Jim Pillen faces pushback from ag allies in the Legislature over some of his property tax reform ideas, which include removing sales tax exemptions for agricultural and manufacturing inputs. Pillen plans a special session starting July 25 to enact reforms, proposing taxing inputs at lower rates while suggesting that if the state takes on more local K-12 funding, producers could save money.
