Michigan and Illinois have signed a Project Partnership Agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct a long-awaited invasive carp barrier at the Brandon Road Lock and Dam in Joliet, IL. The agreement unlocks $274M in federal and $114M in state funding for the $1.15B project's first phase, which aims to prevent invasive carp from entering the Great Lakes, protecting Lake Michigan's fishing industry.
