MGL increased CNG and PNG prices in Mumbai due to rising demand and gas allocation shortfall.

Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) increased CNG prices by Rs 1.50/kg and domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) prices by Rs 1/SCM in Mumbai and surrounding areas, effective from midnight of July 8-9. The hike is due to rising demand for CNG-PNG and a shortfall in domestic gas allocation, leading MGL to source additional market-priced natural gas. MGL's CNG price still offers a 50% saving compared to petrol and a 17% saving compared to diesel.
