Lightning strike caused wildfire that killed 2 people in New Mexico, destroying/damaging over 1,400 structures on Mescalero Apache Reservation. The South Fork Fire, reported on June 17, forced evacuation of Ruidoso village and burned 27 square miles. Eight agencies, including the FBI, investigated and found lightning as the cause. The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for info on those responsible.
