Karnataka Minister announces meeting to decide location for Bengaluru's second airport; factors for consideration include passenger load and connectivity to existing airport.

Karnataka Minister for Infrastructure M B Patil announced that a meeting will soon be held to decide the location for the proposed second airport in Bengaluru. The government will consider passenger load and connectivity to the existing Kempegowda International Airport before making a final decision. If prioritizing passenger load, areas like Sarjapur and Kanakapura Road are strong contenders, while if connectivity to the existing airport is prioritized, places like Tumakuru and Dabaspete will be in the lead. These factors will be discussed in the next departmental meeting, further reviewed with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and brought up before the Cabinet.
