French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced his resignation after his party lost to the left-wing alliance called the New Popular Front (NFP) in snap elections. Attal plans to resign on Monday, but will remain in office if his resignation is rejected, as France prepares for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The results of the second phase of the elections showed the NFP as the largest party in the parliament.
