1 dead after high-speed crash on I-5 in Sacramento: A person died Monday morning in a high-speed crash on southbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento near the 43rd Avenue offramp. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, crashed into a center divide, with a person taken to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. Lanes were blocked but reopened by 9:43 a.m. The cause of the crash remains unclear.
