Asda has dropped plans to implement a four-day working week after employees complained that the 11-hour shifts were leaving them "exhausted." The supermarket chain trialed the compressed working hours for store managers at 20 stores, but workers reported it to be "physically demanding" and difficult to manage with childcare. Asda will now trial a flexible 39-hour week over five days.
