64-year-old Batu Pahat retiree lost RM400,900 to a crypto investment scam after interacting with an unidentified individual on Facebook, then WhatsApp. The victim was persuaded to invest in digital currency via 'kakauet.com' and transferred money to eight different accounts from April 3 to June 18. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
