West Africa's divided regional bloc asks Senegal's President Basirou Diomaye Faye to dialogue with military junta-led member states Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, who left the group in January. The weakened bloc aims to reunite and stabilize the region, while the three nations have already stated they have "irrevocably turned their back on ECOWAS." Senegal's President Faye is appointed as envoy to facilitate discussions.
