Uttarakhand temporarily suspends the Char Dham Yatra due to heavy rain forecast by IMD for July 7-8. The Garhwal Divisional Commissioner issued an order to postpone the Yatra for the safety of pilgrims. The IMD has also issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in all the districts of Uttarakhand on July 7-8. Pilgrims have been advised to avoid proceeding further and stay where they are until the weather clears.
