23,000-seat timber-roofed stadium planned at Hobart's Macquarie Point for Tasmania's AFL entry in 2028.

Hobart's Macquarie Point is set to host the world's largest timber-roofed stadium under Tasmania's AFL entry conditions for 2028. Concept designs for the 23,000-seat roofed stadium include a transparent EFTE roof, dedicated concert stage, and a 1500-person function room. The $715m design incorporates Tasmania's maritime and rail yard history and, when completed, will become a multipurpose arena.
