Melbourne Demons star Christian Petracca, already sidelined for the AFL season due to spleen, lung, and rib injuries, is facing another setback as he undergoes surgery to remove his appendix after being admitted to hospital with appendicitis. Demons assistant Andrew McQualter confirmed the surgery, stating it's a difficult time for Petracca and his partner Bella Beischer. The club indicates the appendicitis is unrelated to Petracca's previous injuries.
