6-8 July, a Chinese Communist Party (CPC) delegation, led by Lu Kang, visited Ireland at the invitation of Dáil Éireann, Ireland's lower house of parliament. They met with key Irish political figures, including former Prime Minister Bertie Ahern, and briefed the Irish side on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, foreign policies, and propositions of the Chinese government. Both parties agreed to use the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties to strengthen international cooperation and advance China-Ireland and China-Europe relations.
