Two young British girls were rescued after being found "abandoned" in a car near the search site for missing British teenager Jay Slater in Tenerife. The 34-year-old local resident discovered the girls in a white Volkswagen Polo hire car parked in the sun, with the eldest stating her father had left her and her sister while he went to a nearby shopping centre for a haircut. Despite being able to unlock the car from the inside, the girls refused to leave.
