Standard & Poor's upgraded the long-term credit ratings of four major Greek banks (Alpha Bank, Eurobank, National Bank of Greece, and Piraeus Bank) and Aegean Baltic Bank, with National and Eurobank one step before investment grade and Alpha Bank and Piraeus two notches below investment grade. The upgrades were due to improved financial and financial outlook, reduced non-performing exposure ratio, and a stronger market sentiment.
