South Carolina's first Whataburger opens on July 15 in Boiling Springs, marking the Texas-based chain's expansion into its 16th state. The official grand opening will take place at 11 a.m. on Boiling Springs Road in Spartanburg County. The company has plans for nine more restaurants in the state by 2025. Founded in 1950 by Harmon Dobson in Corpus Christi, Texas, Whataburger now has over 800 locations.
