Shiv Sena leader Sandeep Thapar was attacked with swords by a group of Nihangs near Ludhiana Civil Hospital in Punjab, while he was riding his scooter on a busy road. The attack happened despite Thapar being accompanied by a gunman and under police protection. The leader suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The attackers, dressed as Nihang Sikhs, fled the scene after the assault.
