RBI launches quarterly "Order Books, Inventories, and Capacity Utilisation" survey for India's manufacturing sector.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a quarterly "Order Books, Inventories, and Capacity Utilisation" survey for the manufacturing sector. Conducted since 2008, the survey collects data on new orders, backlog of orders, pending orders, total inventories, item-wise production, and reasons for changes in production/capacity. It helps formulate monetary policy and maintains confidentiality of company-level data.
