The awards recognized their bravery during various anti-Naxal and counter-terrorist operations. Among the recipients, Inspector Dilip Kumar Das, Head Constable Raj Kumar Yadav, and Constables Bablu Rabha and Shambhu Roy received Kirti Chakras (posthumous) for their valiant actions during an operation in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on April 3, 2021, where 22 security personnel were killed in action.
