Ottawa Councillor Tim Tierney, a Nickelback fan with a tattoo of the band, met his idols backstage at Bluesfest on Friday. He presented the band with a plaque declaring Beacon Hill-Cyrville, the ward he represents, as their official hometown, signed by Mayor Mark Sutcliffe. The meeting occurred before their mainstage performance at LeBreton Flats Park, where they played a concert full of hits.
