NHS doctor Renee Hoenderkamp has highlighted a painless skin symptom indicative of high cholesterol, which can increase the risk of heart disease and other severe health conditions. These yellowish-orange growths, known as xanthelasma, are cholesterol deposits beneath the skin when they appear on the eyelids. Studies suggest that around half of people with xanthelasma have abnormal cholesterol levels.
