The Minister of Water and Environment is rehabilitating four water dams in Karamoja subregion districts (Moroto, Kaabong, Napak, and Nakapiripirit), as many dams have been vandalized or dried up. Local leaders demand additional dams to reduce long distances animals travel for water and protect them from cattle raiders. The dams provide essential water for both animals and people during the dry season.
