Malaysian Army private, Pvt Muhammad Syafiq Hilmi Abd Halim, found safe after 17 days missing during a patrol operation in Limbang, Sarawak. A search and rescue team discovered Syafiq on July 6, who was weak due to hunger and dehydration but unharmed. The Malaysian Army expressed gratitude to all involved agencies and plans to establish a Board of Inquiry to improve standard operating procedures.
