Maharashtra introduces AI-powered 'MARVEL' unit for law enforcement, becoming India's first state with an independent AI unit for crime prediction and prevention.

Maharashtra Police introduced 'MARVEL', an AI-powered entity, to strengthen intelligence capabilities and predict & prevent crimes. This makes Maharashtra the first state in India to create an independent AI unit for law enforcement. The government will provide 100% share capital to MARVEL for five years, amounting to Rs 4.2 crore annually, marking a significant step towards modernizing law enforcement in the state.
