5 J&K Police officers receive Shaurya Chakras for bravery, a first for the force.
Jammu and Kashmir DGP RR Swain lauded his men for receiving Shaurya Chakras for the first time, a rare honour usually given to Defence Forces personnel. The President of India, Prime Minister, and Defence Minister awarded five J&K Police officers with Shaurya Chakras for their courage and bravery during service. This marks a historic moment in J&K Police history since its establishment in 1873.
