India's Project Zorawar high-altitude light tank for Indian Army to be ready by 2027 after trials by DRDO and L&T, in response to China confrontations.

India's indigenous light tank for high-altitude warfare, Project Zorawar, is expected to be ready for induction by the Indian Army by 2027, following trials. Developed by DRDO and private sector company L&T, the light tanks will be tested in deserts and high-altitude areas over the next two to three years before the entire procurement process begins. The need for such tanks arises from ongoing military confrontations with China in eastern Ladakh.
