Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz, a Republican, was charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia after carrying an unloaded .380-caliber firearm in her carry-on luggage through Dulles Airport security. Spartz mistakenly brought the handgun in her suitcase while traveling for a meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly in Europe. She was issued a citation and allowed to continue her international flight.
