Dead body found wrapped in sleeping bag on Manhattan sidewalk; NYPD and OCME to investigate.
A dead body wrapped in a sleeping bag was found on a Manhattan sidewalk in New York City, near 207 East 27th Street. Police responded to a suspicious package report and the cause of death and identity of the person are still unknown. The NYPD and the Office of Chief Medical Examiner will investigate the circumstances of the death. This incident occurred in the Kips Bay neighborhood.
