Customs officials at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport seized seven exotic birds and three monkeys smuggled from Thailand, detaining two passengers in connection with the incident. Three of the birds were found dead upon unboxing the consignment. The surviving animals were handed over to the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare for treatment before being repatriated to Thailand.
