Boots plans to close 47 more UK stores, bringing total closures to 290 since announcing a 300-store cut last year.

UK's largest pharmacy and health & beauty retail chain, Boots, plans to close 47 more stores, bringing the total number of closures to 290 since it announced last year to cut its UK store count by 300. Despite increased sales in the most recent quarter, its overall sales growth dipped to 1.6% due to store closures. The closures have resulted in Boots' presence shrinking from 2,200 to approximately 1,900 locations.
