Arkansas's Period Poverty Project fails to qualify for November ballot due to insufficient signatures.
Arkansas's Period Poverty Project, aiming to exempt feminine hygiene products and diapers from sales tax, fell short of the required 90,704 signatures needed to qualify for the November ballot. The group submitted 43,831 signatures, only meeting the minimum in 19 of the 50 required counties. As a result, the amendment won't proceed further unless the committee finds a way to meet the necessary threshold.
