Three West Australian environmental scientists led a delegation demanding stronger restrictions on toxic rodent baits, SGARs, in Canberra. The baits, which are more potent than first-generation counterparts, are linked to the death of Australian native wildlife, including mammals and night birds. Five second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides are currently approved for use in Australia by the country's pesticide regulator.
