Transport Minister Simeon Brown welcomes the progress of the first seven Roads of National Significance (RoNS) projects, which are expected to begin procurement, enabling works, and construction within the next three years. The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) has appointed project teams to accelerate consenting, property acquisition, and design processes. The government's 17-priority RoNS projects were outlined in the recent Government Policy Statement on Land Transport (GPS).
