Northwest BC hereditary chief, Witsuwit'en Wing Chief Dsta'hyl (Adam Gagnon), was sentenced for criminal contempt on July 3 and plans to appeal. He told supporters outside the Smithers courthouse that this is just the beginning and the fight is not over, as the case will be registered with the appeal court. The appeal process could take years.
