The Nigerian Senate has resolved to probe the $5.79 billion Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba State, investigating steps taken since 1999. The project, planned to deliver 3,050MW of power, has faced challenges since a full contract was signed with Chinese contractors in 2017. Senators say the plant could have addressed Nigeria's power issues had it been completed.
