The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy requires inspections for lead water lines in St. Joseph, Lincoln, and Royalton townships. Southwest Michigan Regional Sanitary sewer and water authority partner with Dukes Root Control to conduct the inspections in July-August due to the lead situations in Flint and Benton Harbor. About 370 homes will be inspected for lead presence in goosenecks, water shutoffs, and between shutoffs.
