On July 4th, a seal pup was rescued from Gonzales Beach in Victoria, BC, after a concerned individual reported its presence. Upon arrival, VAMMR found human interference, with someone attempting to touch and lift the animal. The seal pup is now receiving care from the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Society. Interactions with marine wildlife should be limited to avoid harm and promote survival.
