India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi have agreed to redouble efforts to resolve the ongoing border dispute in eastern Ladakh. During a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, both ministers emphasized the importance of respecting the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for maintaining peace and tranquility in border areas. They reaffirmed the importance of mutual respect, mutual interest, and mutual sensitivity in guiding bilateral relations and agreed that diplomatic and military channels should work together for the early resolution of remaining border issues.
