Disbarred lawyer Hong Guo's forged cheque claim against Bank of Montreal dismissed by Supreme Court of B.C., leaving her liable for repayment.
Disbarred lawyer Hong Guo loses forged cheque claim against Bank of Montreal. Supreme Court of B.C. Justice Neena Sharma rules there is insufficient evidence to prove the $887,562 cheque was forged, as part of an alleged $6.6m fraud scheme. Sharma's decision thwarts Guo's application for summary judgment, leaving her and her firm liable for repaying the bank, which has sued her via a counterclaim.
