B.C. conservationist John Buchanan found an abandoned six-metre cabin cruiser on June 24 at Porteau Cove Provincial Park, which appeared to have been deliberately sunk by drilling holes in its bow. The vessel had fuel onboard and a refrigerator still attached. Buchanan reported the boat to regulatory agencies, but expressed frustration with the slow response to dealing with marine debris and pollution.
