CBI files first BNS FIR against 2 Delhi Police officers for bribery demand in Tihar Jail case.

The CBI has filed its first FIR under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), replacing the British-era Indian Penal Code (IPC), against two Delhi Police officers for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to help release a person lodged in Tihar Jail. The officers, Head Constables Ravindra Dhaka and Parveen Saini, are accused of criminal conspiracy and bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Delhi Police has suspended both officers and initiated dismissal procedures.
