Ancient garden ruins linked to Roman Emperor Caligula found during Vatican excavations.

Archaeological excavations near the Vatican have uncovered ruins of an ancient garden likely owned by Roman Emperor Caligula. The remains, found during construction work linking Castel Sant'Angelo to St. Peter's Basilica, include a travertine wall, colonnaded portico foundations, and a garden. A lead water pipe stamped with Caligula's name was also discovered, suggesting the garden's ownership.
