Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) carried out 11 water rescues during overnight flash floods on July 4th, with the most significant at a homeless camp near the Little Blue River, where three people were rescued. A second call came from another homeless camp near Brush Creek, where one person was swept into the water and rescued. KCFD operations were temporarily suspended due to rising water levels.
