Pakistani authorities address EASA ban concerns for PIA privatization recommended by IMF.

Pakistani authorities are addressing concerns raised by potential bidders for the country's national airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ban. The loss-making state-owned airline's privatisation has long been recommended by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Pakistan, who is seeking a longer term bailout deal this month. Six companies and consortiums were pre-qualified in June for bidding on between 51%-100% of PIA by the end of next month.
