Orphaned sea otter pup Tofino, rescued in critical condition in British Columbia, is thriving under care but unlikely to return to the wild due to hunting and body temperature issues.

An orphaned sea otter pup, named Tofino, rescued last month in critical condition in British Columbia, is now thriving under 24-hour care at the Vancouver Aquarium's Marine Mammal Rescue Society. However, veterinarian Martin Haulena states that it is unlikely Tofino will be able to return to the wild due to her inability to independently hunt or regulate her body temperature. The pup, which has grown from 2 kg to over 3 kg, has shown progress in various areas including swimming, manual dexterity, and self-grooming.
