Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson forecasts 20-25 commercial-scale carbon capture and storage projects in Canada within the next decade, following Shell Canada's greenlight for its Polaris project. The new federal investment tax credit for carbon capture and storage has been approved, allowing companies to apply and receive the tax credit. Wilkinson also remains optimistic about the Pathways Alliance's proposed $16.5bn carbon capture and storage network.
