Study finds that gratitude in older adults is associated with a 9% lower risk of premature death.

A new study from Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health suggests that gratitude may help older adults live longer. Over 49,000 older women in the study with an average age of 79 completed a six-question gratitude test. The results showed that those who scored highest on the gratitude questionnaire had a 9% lower risk of premature death from any cause compared to those with the least gratitude. The researchers believe that experiencing gratitude may increase longevity among older adults.
