Federal jury orders NFL to pay $4.7B in damages for antitrust violations in 'Sunday Ticket' service.

A federal jury has ruled that the NFL must pay $4,707,259,944.64 in damages for violating antitrust laws in the distribution of out-of-market Sunday afternoon games through its premium subscription service, 'Sunday Ticket'. The lawsuit, which covered 2.4 million residential subscribers and 48,000 businesses in the US, claimed the league broke antitrust laws by selling the package at an inflated price and restricted competition by offering the service exclusively on DirecTV.
