Cyprus inaugurated the 1.77M euro Troodos Observatory on the Troodos mountains, aiming to regenerate rural areas and foster celestial understanding. Designed by architects Elena, Nicodemos, and Cassandra Tsolakis, the spaceship-like observatory features a 20-inch reflective telescope, the largest on the island, and solar telescope. Part of the EU-backed Geostars project, it was built to attract visitors and inspire wonder about the cosmos.
